My neighbours are pretty cool ... (attention whore !!!)

My neighbours are pretty wealthy and own a few vacation homes around the state, one of them is next to me (they are actually from Salzburg and about 60 years old, so mostly their younger kids come here for vacation or parties).

The case is this: With all the heat here (35°C), there are now also a lot of heavy thunderstorms with hail as big as eggs sometimes.

Because my appartment doesn't have a garage or carport, my car (worth ca. 35000$) would be heavily damaged because of this sh*t.

But my neighbours have one and because they are almost never in town, I asked them If I could use their carport. They immediately said: OK, sure. They even invited me over to a barbecue when they are back here. I mostly thought rich people are ignorant a**holes, but not in this case ...

Whenever I see the "attention whore" warning in the title, I assume the thread is from BushOklahoma.

First of all, it bugs me when people make a topic about something that happens to them, and say "sorry for attention whoring". Only when it gets to the extremes that someone should be sorry - and it does go to the extreme here quite a bit, but one instance isn't a big deal.

Second of all, of course some wealthy people aren't douchebags. We only see the worst instances of them reported, but some are very nice and charitable. Same with poor people, some can be real dicks.
