The combination of 1) Parties having to pay 100% of the cost of conventions in the future, and 2) Scaled back news coverage of the conventions, owing to the fact that the actual identity of the party nominee is now known months in advance, suggests that the conventions might be stripped down of some of their bloat in the future.  In fact, the 2008 RNC, with its cancelled first day of proceedings in deference to hurricane victims, might have been a preview of this.

Parties still won't be paying 100% thanks to the security costs that are picked up by the taxpayer.

The Four in Opposition:

Barbara Boxer (D-CA)
Barbara Mikulski (D-MD)
Mary Landrieu (D-LA)
Jay Rockefeller (D-WV)

Why am I not surprised?

Which are apparently going to cost $100 Million?

What the hell kind of Security costs $50 f***ing million?  For a f***ing Stadium event (or wherever the Hell these are being held)?

NOTE: Assumed 50-50 allocation.
