http://www.buzzfeed.com/rebeccaelliott/obama-sees-sharpest-drop-in-donors-from-western-st

Other states with significant drops (in order of size):
CA, NY, FL, GA, NJ, WA, WI, NM, and SD

States still strong for Obama donors:  VT, ME, MI

My comments:

1.  I have here recently expressed surprise at polls showing Romney has a chance in Michigan.  Even I, with my prediction of an Obama rout, still have him winning Michigan.  I think this study strengthens that.

2.  I still have Romney winning Maine, though I've written here recently that I was about to change that.  This study suggests I better hurry.

3.  On the Romney VP thread, I suggested he would be well-advised to "forget the South and take someone from CA or CO -- or anywhere on the Pacific Coast except Alaska".  I think there's evidence here to show that the GOP should pick a Westerner to go along with their Massachusetts candidate as he faces off against a ticket featuring Illinois and Delaware.
