Also, among all voters (not just restricting ourselves to Republicans), 58% know that Romney is Mormon and 29% know that Santorum is Catholic:



Among white evangelicals, 34% know he's Catholic, but 35% think he's evangelical:

Evangelicals seem a bit shaky on their knowledge of political leaders' religions generally.

Newtie's hanging in there. I guess there are some voters who think Newt is as smart as Newt himself thinks he is (the creative out-of-the-box thinking transformational visionary whose crystal ball is far less opaque than most mere mortals (assuming Newt thinks he is a mere mortal, which is questionable in and of itself), which is quite remarkable actually.
