Full triathlon: 3.86 km swimming, 180 km biking, 42.2 km running

I personally rather doubt it; I could do all three parts (I have biked and swam those distances, but I've never run a marathon) individually, but put them together and that's over my head. The 111 km (1 km swimming, 100 km biking, 10 km running) is probably around the most I could do at one go.

How about you guys?

I like to mountainbike a lot in the summer, I also like to swim once in a while, I almost never run - never did so since I left school where we had to do it. Does inline skating count as running ?

I could probably bike 50km, swim 500 meters and run 5 to 10 km. Then I would drop dead.

By no means. Most I've ever actually run without stopping is 5K at cross country practice. The swimming would be impossible. I'd likely drown.

This, definitely.

I can run maybe 8-10 km without stopping.
Bicycling, I don't know, mainly because I've never bicycled further than like 20 km in one piece.

I consider myself to be pretty fit but I concede to not being the best swimmer so that's where I would meet my downfall (the other two sections I could complete it would just take a ridiculously long time).

I'm pretty sure I've swam 4000m before. But biking 180km and running 42km sounds impossible.

I could probably handle the running part (a marathon) unless I manage to injure myself in the process, which for me is always a concern. I managed 16 miles yesterday without any problems so I'll give myself the benefit of the doubt on that one.

I know I can do the swimming. That's by far the easier and really a bit of a joke in comparison to the other two.

But the biking would be really, really rough.

All in all, I'd say yes I could do it but it would be a huge injury risk and force me way out of my comfort zone.

I'm physically capable and could do it if I trained.  Doing it right now would really push me to my limits, considering I'm still not fully healed and since it is the off season I am out of shape.  I would be worried about the swim, since I'm the weakest upper body, but I'm still a strong swimmer and I know I could go the distance without drowning (though I might have to stop and tread water once or twice).  I don't do much biking, so that second leg would definitely be a challenge, but I imagine it is doable.  I would be exhausted when I got off to run, but as running is my strongest event, I could make it to the finish line.

A friend of mine runs triathlons; he is looking to go semi-pro.  The day before yesterday, he texted me "hey man, I'm going on a 50 mile run today.  Want me to swing by your house so we can run for a few miles?"  That right there is hardcore.
