In what is yet another example of Rick Santorum's Gingrich-like tendency to unthinkingly say whatever comes into his head, the former US Senator from Pennsylvania advised the "Rick 2012" driver in today's rain-delayed Daytona 500 to let his competition "crash and burn".

Santorum was speaking to David Gregory on NBC's "Meet the Press" program on Sunday and, after a discussion of his Catholic values, Santorum was asked about his interest in the Daytona 500 race, in which the chief challenger to Mitt Romney is sponsoring the Front Row Motorsports car #26, driven by Tony Raines.

Santorum shows his true colors.

Wait Santorum is cold and heartless? I thought his treatment of gays and women already confirmed this?

Apparently, his competition did crash and burn at tonight's D500. Literally.
