The Mittens green is right where one would expect it, when he is shaved down to his base - those of means living in the cosmopolitan zone, in this case the Twin Cities and Rochester.

I think it's a stretch to call the far out burbs of the Twin Cities "cosmpolitan." There aren't enough Republicans in the cities to fill a closet.

It's a state of mind.  If they are more secular and rich and educated, they are "cosmopolitan."

Even then, though, it's surprisingly shallow.  I mean, Minnetonka off the lake and Medina voting for Paul and Santorum?  What?!  (Now, the other random municipalities on Lake Minnetonka, on the other hand, are voting as they"should".)

What's up with all the shades of grey in Plymouth?  And did no one show up in Mendota Heights for some reason?

Those aren't "far out".  "Far out" is the orangefest going on in Anoka County.

I'm under the impression that some counties did a lot of combined caucuses whereas others didn't do any. There are at least 30 counties that only did one big caucus, for example. I think Mendota Heights did something like that as well.

The dark gray precincts are tied. The light gray have no votes.

I expected Mittens to do better in the inner-ring suburbs before election day.

Like I said, the parts that voted for Bachmann are not the parts that voted for Romney.
