Honestly if it was put up to a vote I would probably wind up in favor of the creation of a Cascadian Republic.

Although it truly is more for fun than anything else.

Oh and Soccer too, don't forget that:

What's the extent of this movement's seriousness up in the Pacific Northwest?

Ironic 85%
Almost entirely ironic 13%
Confused right-wingers 2%

Which corresponds roughly with Cascadia's hypothetical population of 98% hipsters and 2% non-hipsters.

It seems to me that they should have shifted the eastern borders of Snoqualmie and Klamath west to the Cascades. That way they mitigate the political differences between east and west at the same time as they form their independent nation.

The link is to a wiki called the SimCity Journal Union. I would treat the thread in that context.

Seems like a post-Apocalyptic sucessor state, like the New California Republic or something out of a Kaljweyt or CathCon timeline.

You couldn't get the names/borders more wrong if you tried to subdivide Cascadia into 5 regions. This is hilariously bad. Also BC needs to be included.

I understand why BC isn't in it, the map is the 1848 Oregon Territory. I think that 4 states might fit better than five: Salish in western WA south to Thurston county; Chinook going south from Lewis county though OR west of the Cascades; Yakama covering eastern WA, northern ID and the Flathead valley of MT; Shoshone covering eastern OR and the Snake river in ID.
