The survey of 600 voters, conducted Feb. 2-6, could foreshadow good news for other Illinois Democrats come November.

56% Obama
35% Romney

58% Obama
30% Gingrich

Overall, 53 percent of Illinois voters approve of the job Obama has done as president compared with 40 percent who disapprove.

Pretty good numbers if you consider IL has a very high unemployment rate.

That may even underestimate the President in Illinois.  Including the get out the vote campaigns in the Chicago Metro the President will probably get to 60%

Rahm Emanual has a 70% job approval as jobs are coming back and it is rubbing off on Obama.

Obama's approval and popularity are rather low given it's his home state.  The pathetically incompetent Democrat regime there is going to be a drag on him.  I think he sinks down to a more typical Democrat level there of 54%

The even more pathetic Illinois GOP will more than balance out any advantage gained from the incompetent Dems in Ill.
