Would definitely give Obama somewhat of a boost, you would have to think...

Why would that give him a boost? Huh People already believe he's dead, presumably.

A powerful reminder of his top foreign policy success. Never underestimate the public's thirst for blood.

No and he wouldn't get any boost out of it they did. People have moved on with their lives.

Something as trivial as the Bin Laden Death Photos would have no effect at all. Besides the Obama team is to smart to "leak" the photos. They know what kind of hissy fit the right wing talkers would throw if the photos showed up a couple weeks before the election.

Given how relatively little bin Laden's death helped Obama, I doubt it'd affect much one way or another.

I am surprised by how little a boost he got in May when it happened

Yeah, I totally forgot how little of a bump he got in May. It was easily the only time in his entire administration I thought to myself, "Oh yeah...this is why I supported him in 2008." And then it dawned on me that the whole thing would have happened like it did if Bush had been handed a third term. Still, a gutsy call he deserves credit for, but I am sure Bush or McCain would have made it, too.

The thing is, Osama bin Laden had faded to operational irrelevance long ago, and I think the American people are at least somewhat aware of that fact.  "Getting" him is excellent in terms of bringing a war criminal and terrorist to the fate he so richly deserved, but it doesn't really fundamentally alter anything re: "War on Terror," Afghanistan, etc.  After the brief exhilaration of his death passed, there was nothing to keep the bump going because it didn't fundamentally change anything.  At least IMO.
