Yes, I suppose it is Santorum's time...

...to get out of the way.

The CNN crew is praising Rick, saying to keep an eye on him. He just needs to eliminate Newt as the Anti Romney.

You know it's a little late?

Santorum would be a much better choice to unite the anti-Romney forces, as he seems more, I don't know, sane, has less baggage and is more likable. That said, it's probably way too late for them to coalesce around him as Gingrich has already claimed to be the conservative in the race. He also has more money. But you're right. Rick always seems on his game and has a coherent message, while Newt just goes off on bizarre ramblings that really sound like a lecture as opposed to a speech.

Unless you are a libertarian who supports Paul, Santorum is the only understandable alternative to Romney.

Pretty much. And the Republican electorate refuses to accept this point for some reason I don't completely understand. Since they want to "take on the establishment" and "protect the sanctity of marriage" instead they give us Newt Gingrich. Newt Gingrich!?! You couldn't make this up; as fiction it would seem unbelieveble.

I'm starting to think the Republican primary voters either will a) only support a southerner, or b) hate Catholics and either don't realize Gingrich is Catholic or think he converted only for convenience and is personally still an evangelical. I'd rather not think this sort of thing, but I'm running out of other ways to understand how people can vote for this guy in a primary.

Newt is better at channeling the visceral loathing a certain segment of the GOP electorate has for Obama, and the liberal secular ivory tower elite that he personifies to them. Much of that segment has also been left behind economically. They are very unhappy.  In a word, Newt is without peer in projecting anger, and the it's time to lash back and get even leitmotif.

In a year crowded with horrid options, Santorum is the best one the Republicans have.  It is unbelievably sad but true.  Hey Republicans, this is what it was like to be a Democrat in 1984.

According to PPP, The Fighter is leading in Minnesota and in second place in Colorado. He's also doing very well (probably still leading) in Missouri's beauty contest primary. All three vote on Tuesday.

Yes, sadly, this is true. But, as Santorum has explained at length, his motive was to try to stop McCain.

Rick has a map towards nomination, while Newt not. He can fight not only in Super-Tuesday, but in Mid-Atlantic in April. I believe that if Newt wants to stop Romney, he should drop-out before AZ and MI.
