Their building is like literally about four blocks from me. I'm kind of intrigued even though I'm not as big into the mysticism/New Age stuff as them, but I've also read things about how the greater organization they belong to is basically a cult and whatnot. Should I check out any of their events sometime? Despite what I've heard from the site they look pretty harmless.

What cult things stood out to you?

Hey looks like they're hosting a free showing of WALL-E on Sunday: http://www.yelp.com/events/minneapolis-family-conscious-cinema-wall-e-showing-in-uptown

And so it begins. I guess this was inevitable.

Soon enough, BRTD will be living in a suburb.

I'm just curious that's all. They believe in Jesus but they're quite a bit too New Age-y for me, I'm not big on meditation stuff.

I have to say though, the robes their priests wear do kind of have a cult vibe to them:

If you're going to join a cult, join the Reasonablists. If people criticize them, it'll seem like they're attacking something reasonable.

Wow.

A beautiful demonstration of how young people are becoming old jcfmtcs.
It is quite rare to be able to observe the whole phenomena.

I'm not going to join them, I'm just curious. Nothing about them seems particularly dangerous or cult-like though besides the creepy robes. Mind you I much prefer that my pastors wear jeans and I have a feeling people don't raise their hands in the air at their services and I'd probably be bored.

Soon enough, BRTD will be living in a suburb.

I know this is kind of a joke but honestly part of what I love about my neighborhood is the fact that there is basically EVERYTHING in walking distance whether you want to go there or not. I mean how many people live in an place where they can in about 15 minutes walk to shady check cashing places, pay-day loan providers, various happy ending massage parlors, strange Asian acupuncture "therapy" providers, a Vietnamese film store, a not all that legitimate looking jewelry store, sketchy as hell accounting and law firms, indie record and video stores that are still open and a very odd and maybe cultish church like this? But I do!
