can be read here.  Among other things, he thinks that if Newt collapses over the Bain thing (apparently Mittens is going to get more endorsements over it), that Newt's support will split between Mittens and Rick. He doesn't think Paul has more than an outside chance for a medal, be it gold, silver or bronze. In the meantime, he gives Mittens the edge, and think if he gets the gold, the race is over.

I could easily see Paul coming in third at this point.

Yes, that is the CW, which is what makes this insider's thoughts interesting in part.

Romney and Paul could survive a loss here; none of the other candidates can.

Wait, is the Bain thing now being seen as a positive for Romney? What the hell happened?

These sorts of "knowledgeable insiders" who say things that clearly are not supported by any polling are almost always wrong.

Republicans don't appreciate Newt's argument that Romney should have left money on the table at Bain in favor of the greater good. In other words -- dude sounds like a socialist. Not a good position to be in while running in a GOP primary.

Quatre Bras = Iowa

Ligny = New Hampshire

If Romney wins is South Caroline, it would be as if Napoleon won at Waterloo.  We might as well be playing La Victoire est à Nous after that.  Except for Paul, with his core supporters, none of the other candidates can survive.
