I haven't watched all the debates, but it seems every time he does it's a giant and embarrassing epic fail.

Yeah, but he's finally gotten to the point where he's making Romney look bad as well.

Exactly. Romney looked like a pompous ass tonight. It seems like he's trying too hard to have his "I paid for this microphone!" moment. Its a shame, because he's otherwise such a great speaker.

Perry didn't come off looking great either, though. I will say - he has improved! He was articulate and concise when falsely accusing Mitt Romney of hiring illegal immigrants. With continued practice, I'm confident he will do better.

Both men are the only two who have the resources to go the distance. It will be really interesting to see their interactions and ads about eacho ther going forward.

So far, Perry's entire campaign has been a giant and embarrassing epic fail.

No, and the Luntz focus group in Nevada loathed Perry for interrupting Romney like that, and he lost the couple of folks who were supporting him previously. The crowd was almost all for either Cain or Mittens.

No, and to make a side note, I so far have only met two people that are actually supporting Perry in this state, I wonder if that is the same everywhere else...

Luntz focus groups are about as "fair and balanced" as Soviet elections.

Oh I don't that is quite right. Luntz's characterizations sometimes spin matters a bit, but you do get to hear from the participants themselves. This group was just a bunch of Las Vegas Pubbies, of various types, although I think the upper middle class cohort was a bit thin on the ground there.

I recall the Luntz focus group having one particular guy in two separate statements, and as I recall on both occasions he said "I was undecided, but now I think I'm going for (Perry or Cain IIRC)". I can provide the picture if you want and are willing to wait for me to hunt it down.

I thought Rick Perry did pretty well when engaging Romney in the last debate. He's clearly been practicing more, and if he keeps improving then maybe his campaign can recover.
Romney's been winning debates partially because he has kept his composure and therefore appeared "presidential." Perry, for a moment, made Romney lose that composure. We'll see if he can do that more in upcoming debates.
