Not surprising... if you know Bloomberg's background.

I still think he's a good guy.  I would vote for him.

it's a known fact Congress pushed sub-prime mortgages within the housing system...a practice Congress has yet to change even after the meltdown.

As The One likes to say, it's not either/or it's both/and.

I saw "Mayor Bloomberg: Ban..." and was unpleasantly surprised that my witty response would no longer make sense in context. Cry

It most certainly is both, however; it is refreshing to see a high profile politician make this case, considering those in congress who contributed to the mess have successfully been shielded from their fair share of consequences, by foisting all the blame onto the evil people who hound you every month to pay them money, lest they come and take something from you. Afterwhich, they ride in on white horse claiming to be your champion and that they are going to drill them greedy bastards for you.  It helps that there is a certain ideology that loath's such institutions and loves politicians (especially if they talk good) and is thus willing to to give said politicians a break because they advance the cause.

Bloomberg wanting to ban something - anything - wouldn't be news.

how's that for a set up?
