You know if Trump wanted to he could probably end Romney's chances tomorrow by announcing that if Flip Flop Romney is the candidate he will run as a third party candidate.

Romney's electability argument falls apart if his primary win = Trumps running third party.

Someone's job is to speak on behalf of Donald Trump?

OK, not spokesman.  The article says "Trump aide".  But close enough.

Trump is going to meet with Romney in the coming week.

Perhaps, this is why Romney decided to include the Trumpesque stuff regarding China in his jobs plan.

It would be interesting to see what positions Trump would hold as an independent.  He's only a Republican at the moment because the President is a Democrat and thought he had a chance at the Republican nomination.

He would make for entertaining TV....I can only imagine the debates haha. That said, he would virtually ensure Obama wins as he will only steal votes from Romney (I wouldn't expect him to run if Perry is nominee).

He is of course not going to run.  He's only saying this so that both Perry and Romney suck up to him.

And it seems to be working.

Making a move for a VP spot?

Perry/Trump "Good hair for America"
Romney/Trump "Corporations are people my friend*"

Catchy slogans.

Assuming that the GOP nominee can beat Obama by more than 2 points, then Trump would be a non-factor. People seriously overestimate this man.

Well, he got Obama's birth certificate when no one else could.  He should go after Obama's academic records next.  "WHERE'S THE TRANSCRIPT?"

It's annoying to see Republicans catering to this blustering waste of media oxygen (the same applies to Joe Arpaio).

Have any prominent political figures called Trump out on his nonsense? It's a waste of time and destructive to democracy.

He's been saying this for months. Trump = master troll. For the record, has he declared which GOP candidates he doesn't like?
