does it give you at least hope that "because of Obama" many disadvantaged AA youth will be able to have successful careers in their respective fields as opposed to a life of crime and jail?

as long as 75% of AA children are born out of wedlock, you can forget about the future of AA youth

well, that videos three years old, so any hope of that I once had has been worn out after 3 years of especially high black unemployment.

In Obama's America, AA children's futures are all AA+.

1. The video is old.
2. I fail to see how Obama has anything to do with what people can aspire to be.  African American youth can have successful careers with or without Obama.

It's not like the President is some black Saviour that will end racism and reverse all socioeconomic disadvantages.

One election has never enabled one disadvantaged group to all of a sudden have vibrant careers.  Obviously it was a good thing for our country to elect Obama especially after 8 years of Bush.  It dramatically helped how our country is viewed around the world.  We went from having one of the most despised leaders to having one of the most admired.  Obama's election showed that in America anything is possible.  It doesn't mean everything is probable... just possible.

They'll also learn that hope leads to disappointment.

To be fair, that's not entirely comparable since the difference is more semantic than real. In Sweden more people live together in stable relationships without being married. People who grow up in broken homes tend to do a lot worse here as well (although I suspect one could argue endlessly over whetehr it's genetics or environment in those cases)

True, although I wouldn't think that the jmf's of the world would approve of even that.

Also: What? You may want to check your stats, but the world's opinion of the US has actually decreased over Obama's term, and was stronger when Bush was in office.....
