Total births 2010: 4.007.000
Total births 2009: 4.131.000
Total births 2008: 4.248.000
Total births 2007: 4.316.000
Total births 2006: 4.266.000

The birth rate is at a record low of 13.0/1000, down from 14.3/1000 in 2007.

Total deaths 2010: 2.452.000
Total deaths 2009: 2.437.000
Total deaths 2008: 2.473.000
Total deaths 2007: 2.424.000
Total deaths 2006: 2.426.000

The death rate is 7.9/1000, down slightly from 8.0/1000 in 2007:

Natural increase 2010: 1.555.000
Natural increase 2009: 1.694.000
Natural increase 2008: 1.775.000
Natural increase 2007: 1.892.000
Natural increase 2006: 1.840.000
