I got into a pretty bad car accident on Thursday, nothing serious but banged up a bit, bruise (which has since mostly healed) and some muscle soreness.  I know the olds tends to suffer from muscle aches nd all that stuff and must say damn it really sucks.  I feel like an old fart right now

Ha, I was thinking that when I got a backache a few months back. I suspect olds have that more chronic and can't just get rid of them with a rub and "happy ending".

Glad you're okay.

Of course on this forum anyone over 22 is "old". Wink

The funny thing is when I was like in high school I considered people my current age in my scene and all to be "old", but now I'm not old even by the standards of the scene. People are definitely sticking around longer, hence my reserve Naso-esque rant on how people are maturing later. 35 is the new 25.

Thanks guys, being a bit sore and at times quite ssore really sucks, but it beats the alternative.

I got into a single-car crash back when I had a car and "possibly fractured" a rib. I was sore for quite a while.

You must drive like a maniac.. this is your 2nd accident in the past couple of years, no?

I'm glad you're okay and on the mend.  And for your sake, I'll just assume it was some guy from Jersey being an idiot on the road that caused the accident.

Well let me, as an old, make a few comments.

We used to have accidents back in my day, but it never effected is, as we were driving 1970s Cadillacs or 1980s Lincolns - that sort of thing.  The accident was just something that happened off in the distance and destroyed some idiot in an import out there, but didn't effect one personally.

As for the aches and pains - I don't know if I have them!  I feel or notice no 'pain', but it could be that I just don't remember what it was like to be young (perhaps it felt like a continuous orgasm, but I don't remember it that way.)

Finally, if you want to be safe on the road, buy a 2003-20010 Mercury Grand Marquis.  And go very slowly - it helps to go slowly if you don't have to work, sleep during the day, and avoid rush-hours.

I'm 9 months shy of my 30th birthday and I feel the aches and pains quite frequently now, or at least soreness and stiffness.

I'm glad you're alright, Smash, and as The Professor said don't take your forum screenname personally...

Yup, I had one about two years ago.  This one was more my fault, the last one was 100% the other drivers fault, I was rear ended by someone who was texting and driving.

1) glad to hear you're ok, smash.

2) lol, people are old.

3) is it just me or are some of the posts in this thread the pinnacle of poster's self-parody? Seriously, about half the posts.

4) in australia, we're awesome and don't get muscle soreness.

5) Tongue

I'm sure opebo will soon emerge to tell you about the value, comfort, and style of a 1983 GM product.
