I'm looking forward for Obama camp to air such ads in a very unlikely event of Huntsman becoming a GOP nominee.

That's exactly why he isn't electable. Why would voters vote against Obama when his main challenger has showered praise upon him?

Because he's not Obama? It's hard to use such comments against him in a general election, as it implies there is something wrong with saying good things about the candidate (here Obama).

You know, the candidate needs to differ. Otherwise, he'd finish just like "mee-too Republicans" that ran against FDR.

"Hey, I really like what my opponent is doing! Please elect me because... um, umm..."

Exactly. For 1936 and 1940, both of those Republican candidates were all in all huge supporters of the New Deal with just a difference on FDR's relation with business. The entire point of a party would be a group of people opposing another person/party/group, not a group of voters trying to be just as ____________ (liberal, conservative, etc) as the other party. If the only way Republicans can get elected is to put up candidates that ar eonly slightly to the right of the Democrat, then there's no point to them existing at all. Heck, you could probably get better from a moderate Democrat than a moderate Republican in some cases.

Praising Obama for accomplishments =/= proposing the same leadership and positions as Obama.

Kneejerk opposition = joke candidate.

"......because I will do the same thing as my opponent but only do it better!"

Which is exactly why moderate hero Republicanism has always been so successful!  I mean just think about the generation of landslide victories the Republicans would be guaranteed if they chose candidates who agreed with the Democratic opponent!
