When I spoke after being given the greatest honour possible, I said that I would not forget the support that was given to me from across the Atlasian political spectrum.  The Polnut Cabinet will not be an exercise in party-political posturing.

The basis for the determinations that I have made so far are about ability, experience or promise, or in fact a combination of all of them.

I have asked Hans to stay on as Registrar-General, and Ben to stay on as Secretary of External Affairs.

I will be nominating Attorney-General Teddy as Secretary of Federal Elections.

I have also made two appointments to the Presidential Game Reform Panel - belgiansocialist and Marokai.

Further announcements will be made throughout the week.

Rules on Confirmation Hearings

Senators heave 72 hours to question the nominee.

To answer some questions before they are asked:

In the past I have dropped everything (as in everything - I've even taken time off work) for an election. That is any election, real or fictional. (Yes I once took a day off work for a polsim election) The things which have distracted me from this past campaign will not distract me from administering an election. Even if my home and work Internet were both cut off, I would find an Internet cafe in order to run the election. In short, effort would need to be expended to keep me away from the election, not the other way around.

I do have plans for the office. I plan to extend the calendar out as far as I can. I also plan to build a table-of-contents of sort linking to the various laws that govern how elections are run. Every election it seems, someone points out some law that impacts elections that nobody had considered. I plan to find ALL of these various laws and to index them though the Guidebook. The job of SoFE always becomes controversial because of everything involved, my objective is to make the job so simple that a Hamilton sock could do it without screwing up, even if he tried.

And lastly, to address the "ZOMFGX0RZ RU GUN LEAB?" question; As I've stated when I returned, I left the last two times due to emotions. I got angry. I have a much better control over my emotions. When I returned I was still fresh at this whole controlling-your-emotions business, but now that I've been able to do it for quite some time, I can say with satisfaction, that my emotions will not get in the way again.

As always, I'm willing to answer any other questions you may have for me.

Just FYI, Bgwah and I have been in discussion, as we both wish to clarify the election laws. This is a long term project of mine (IE don't expect a full whatever in 2 weeks) and I expect that before the next Presidential election; and hopefully before the next Senatorial one, the laws will be much clearer.

If I may: Teddy, when do you plan to hold the special election for Oakvale's seat?

(Not trying to sound impatient, it's just curiosity got the better of me. Wink)

The constitution determines when by-elections must be held, and the guidelines set out will be adhered to.
