Lol, no. Unless it nominates Mike Gravel, Mary Ruwart, or Steve Kubby (or someone else along those lines) next year, which seems pretty unlikely.

They're devoted to Austrian economics. That's 'libertarian' in the sense that most Americans use the term. If they took a closer look at just what they're advocating, they might see fit to change their minds on some things.

Their the most Libertarian, but I dont see them as 100% Libertarian either...And ofcourse, I am more in line with Root, Johnson, Paul, and Barr then the likes of Ruwart, Kubby, or Gravel.

As a whole obviously, in terms of their candidate next year probably not.

*shrug*  They seem pretty libertarian to me, or at least they did a few years ago when I was still paying attention.

Agreed. McCain is no conservative. He's part of the Main Street Republican group which is a reputed group of centrists.

Part of the reason I decided against joining the Libertarian Party when the time comes in 3 years, is because of people who are too Libertarian, like Ruwart, who wrote a essay on kiddie porn which I think is just plain weird...

I have my reasons for staying as a Republican for now.
First, I'm ancestrally one, second, I agree with a significant amount of the beliefs of the party(though I've found myself in opposition with them on foreign policy of late), and thirdly unless Mittens is our nominee I see myself staying that way. If Mitt is the nominee I become an independent paleolibertarianconservative who is pro free trade minus WTO NAFTA CAFTA GATT and pro-commodity based currency (Gold, Silver, Oil etc)

Depends on the definition of "libertarian". And arguably of "liberty".

McCain is center-right but still had conservative learnings and isn't even the maverick others make him out to be. In fact, he's been selling out to the religious right ever since he went to Jerry Falwell college and hugs George W Bush, who battle with for the GOP presidential nomination.
