I'll begin by saying Gingrich is my favorite of the candidate and unless something major changes, he will be who I vote for in the GOP primary.  That being said, the man has serious charisma issues.  He says "um" every other word, has a pretty weak voice, mumbles, etc

I don't know if that is part of his professorial charm but don't you all think it is something he needs to work on before primetime?

If you look like Newt and score tail the way he does, my money's on there being a lot of charisma.

I have noticed his recent speeches containing large ums, though when he goes off something passionately, they dissappear. Then again, Obama's press remarks since taking office are. very. slow. and uh is every other word as well.

Oh man y'all gotta check out gop12.  Gingrich is saying he was too patriotic to keep it in his pants.  Truly hilarious. Wow.  More than charisma, his issue could be something Jonathan Bernstein zeroed in on: he's never run a campaign outside a congressional district.  He may not have a clue what he's doing.  Between the botched rollout and clumsy excuse, I'm wondering if Newt is going to be one of the guys whose candidacy doesn't make it out of 2011.  Or maybe he's just going to be the Giuliani of this cycle.  Should be fun.

Did any of you actually watch the interview? It's not like he said it was right and defneded doing it. He's saying why he did it, even even said he didn't ask for God's understanding. People don't have affairs for no reason if you haven't noticed the real world.

So far, President Obama won't need to explain away any philandering or divorces.

More like he'll be the fred thompson - doing it to impress his trophy wife and not really caring about getting donations or campaigning - retired for a decade and will stay retired, or move to hollywood.

He'll fail this time, and he will end up promoting bad investments, bad colleges (for-profit entities that bleed the federal government for student aid or get a student hooked for thousands of dollars in debt), or questionable businesses. Payday-loan scams would likely be a good fit for him.
