AP-GfK Poll: Opposition to health care law eases, only 1 in 4 back complete repeal

The poll finds that 40 percent of those surveyed said they support the law, while 41 percent oppose it. Just after the November congressional elections, opposition stood at 47 percent and support was 38 percent.

Mind bogglingly few know their own interests, yes, Barry.

Well, to be fair, it's not like Democrats actually ever informed them what it was in the first place...

At some point there are just some things that people stop caring about. The health care opposition is tired and played out.

It might also have to do with how ridiculous and idiotic its vocal opponents are. Believe it or not dressing up in 18th century garb and loudly shouting about how Obama is a socialist doesn't sway many people.

Yet those in control of the House will still cry fits of paranoia and use fearmongering to try and get their support for a repeal of this thing. I hope they try and keep failing, it'll be fun to see what happens in 2012.

Apart from the merits, a good portion (consistently around 15%) of those who report being "opposed" to the current health care reform law tell pollsters that they don't think the law went far enough.  GOPers on the hill have always loved citing the raw number of people registering opposition without revealing the fact that many who oppose the law are hardly on their side.

You mean, when your President will still be useless and will be taking a good portion more of the party down with him, correct?

I don't think this President is useless, I'm obviously biased though.

What is useless is this attempt at fake outrage of this law, calling it a "job killer" and all this nonsense and trying to repeal it on the same grounds. It'll no doubt pass the House, but then what? It's going to be killed in the Senate most likely, and even then Obama is not going to sign it. Congress needs to focus more on the economy and jobs instead of trying to find some "heroic symbolism" in this Repeal to try and win them the public's approval.
