Oh, and Stuttgart's sole points come from a 7-0 win against Gladbach.

Nice. Mind you, we only moved ahead of them today (won 2-1 away to Stuttgart while they lost 0-2 at Dortmund.)

I will laugh so hard if Liverpool get relegated.

And yes, I am a Man United fan.

I don't support Liverpool particularly, but it would be a blow to a great working-class city if they got relegated. Also, it would destroy Roy Hodgson's reputation, in a similar way to how the England job destroyed Graham Taylor's reputation. On the other hand, it would be a boost to The Championship, I suppose.

For the record, Liverpool have been in the top flight since 1962, and since then they have never finished lower than 8th.

Seems like the French championship wouldn't be the only one to be upside down.

Last week Bordeaux and Lyon were both in the very bottom of it. Lyon still is. Marseille isn't doing great either.

Rennes, Saint-Etienne and Toulouse leading. And damn it, Rennes has beaten Toulouse yesterday and took the lead.

Not that I give a sh**t, but is that so? That is Good News. Very good indeed. War-raok Roazhon, war-raok Breizh.

Roazhon is the Breton name of Rennes?? Don't give me more reasons to dislike this club!

Oh and, by the way, rather very surprisingly Brest is 4th, when you know they were in Ligue 2 last year, and that Lyon is in the last ones with probably the most money of the championship...

Not related to the topic, but it's when thinking to this topic that I thought to this:

Liverpool, Liver-pool, a pool of liver? Huh

It probably means place by a pool with muddy water.

Let's turn this thread into the generic Liverpool In Crisis thread: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/oct/05/boston-red-sox-owner-offer-liverpool

Robert Peston is a prick, but this is an easy-to-understand summary of where things stand: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters/robertpeston/2010/10/liverpool_takeover_becomes_soa.html

I wonder, what would Shankly, Paisley and Fagan say?

The total lack of any desire for competitive balance is what turns me off the club game.

So, then, Liverpool supporters will become easily far more insufferable than those of any other club (if they're not already).

No, Man City ones are the most insuffrable, simply because every time they lose it's because someone else cheated. Especially if it's Man United of course.

As cool as the relegation/promotion system is, European soccer is by far extremely non egalitarian. Leagues need salary caps! Scotland is probably the worse offender. Baseball in North America is pretty bad too, but not as bad as "the beautiful game" in this respect.

Hodgson has left. Dalglish has returned.
