I wouldn't be surprised even if he loses (which is looking more likely) really. He has the right last name and background for the area and the Democratic candidate is terrible for it.

BTW I'll concede the Dem here is pretty awful all around (like Coakley-level). Even I'd be reluctant to vote for her if she wasn't running against someone extreme.

Bush almost won Aroostook in 2000, so my initial reaction would be yes.

Aroostook County was the most Democratic county in the last two gubernatorial elections, so if LePage is winning there, he's probably winning statewide.

Aroostook County was the most Democratic county in the last two gubernatorial elections, so if LePage is winning there, he's probably winning statewide.

Baldacci was from Bangor (not the right county, but right part of the state) and represented Aroostook County in Congress for several years... the Democrat this year is from the wrong part of the state to replicate his performance, I think.
