Way too goddamn harsh. I can understand prison time, but the courts have taken drunk driving penalties to an extreme limit.

Say thanks to MADD for that. I personally know a lot of officers who quietly oppose MADD.

They've been more harmful than helpful.

In general I think drinking and driving should be punished. The problem is two or three beers will get you in trouble.

Me too, States.  The local department around here don't want them being the focus of MADD.

Too harsh, but he still should get at least a few years in jail. It also would depend on the extent of the injuries suffered by others as a result of his reckless driving.

Generally speaking female suffrage has led to the downfall of any kind of reason, tolerance, or 'freedom' in politics (though in a larger sense all democracy is destructive of personal freedom - one is most free under a monarch).

I'm baffled that I am in agreement with Opebo on an issue.

9 separate instances of attempted vehicular homicide that the guy has been caught and convicted of.  Life with possibility of parole if he can convince a parole board that he would not go binging again if let go seems like the appropriate sentence here.
