Remember when Owens won the special election and everyone assumed he'd be a goner come 2010? Me too, but I guess we didn't count of Hoffman's ego.

Hoffman already lost once, albeit with other factors playing a role, perhaps the primary voters thought it was better to try someone else.

Hoffman is a flawed candidate, just like Dede was but for different reasons, that is why Owens won before. Even without that its best to change candidates when you lose a special election. LA-06, we changed candidates and won, we kept the same ones in Ill-14, and MS-01 and lost.
