They did an odd poll that left out party affiliation, then this poll that included it. Basically, all the statewide races (except Governor) that have Republican candidates are going for the Republicans. Unfortunately for them, they didn't field candidates for Attorney General, Treasurer, or Auditor. I do suspect the Dems' numbers are deflated, especially in the races with no Republican; obviously, there's no chance of the Greens winning any of these offices. Either way, the Republicans have missed a big chance by leaving three of these offices (and a lot of the state legislative seats) uncontested.

Lt. Governor

Mark Darr (R) - 44
Shane Broadway (D) - 27

Attorney General

Dustin McDaniel (D-inc.) - 39
Rebekah Kennedy (G) - 24

Secretary of State

Mark Martin (R) - 51
Pat O'Brien (D) - 32

Treasurer

Martha Shoffner (D-inc.) - 33
Bobby Tullis (G) - 23

Auditor

Charlie Daniels (D) - 40
Mary Hughes-Willis (G) - 26

Land Commissioner

John Thurston (R) - 49
L. J. Bryant (D) - 25

It probably would have happened much earlier had it not been for Bill Clinton.  This was much like how George Wallace kept Democrats dominant in Alabama for so long.

It seems like Arkansans are shifting to the Republicans at the state level even though the AR GOP hasn't entirely realized that and remains a crappy party.

This was bound to happen eventually, and yes, the GOP left a wealth of money on the table in this state by failing to field candidates for every office. Even us Mass Republicans got most (if not all, we'll see on Wednesday morning) filled -- or at least more than ever before.

In terms of realignments, West Virginia, you're on deck.

Eh, I wouldn't count the Arkansas statewide Dems out just yet. This is the worst year they're going to have in a long time and the worst climate they're going to have to deal with. They just have to differentiate themselves from the national party, which has worked for them in the past. Of course, things are going to get a lot more competitive for them though, but they have party infrastructure set up in the state and the Republicans don't right now.
