I referred to the idea that attacking someone for guilt by association with the Scientologists (which IMO are just as kooky as any other religious group, perhaps even less so since they don't go around killing people in the name of Xenu) is bigoted because the Constitution says that no religious test shall be imposed on any candidate for office.

Not really.  Scientology itself may be inherently authoritarian, but that doesn't mean that all of the people who "love" it are inherently authoritarian.  Some are in it because they hate sanity, others are in it because it's just what the cool kids believe.  However, loving Scientology, for any reason, is a sign of severe mental retardation.
