Dear Voters of Connecticut,

On this forum  I have admitted many things. To being bisexual and to questioning the existence of God. But telling you those things was easy compared to what I'm about to share with you.

I am a fan of Pro wrestling.

I know by admitting this I now have no chance of winning office in Atlasia but this is more important. Linda McMahon Can't be a U.S. Senator. For the past almost 20 years I have watched her product and while it is at times entertaining I in no way want the person behind it to hold any elective office.

There have been vile, disgusting storylines involving rape, necrophilia , gay bashing, Racism, prostitution and terrorism. And I cannot count how many wrestlers have died in their 40's and 50's due to lack of care from the WWE. In the 4 major team sports in North America a sports league will provide you with Health insurance for some time after you retire. The WWE does not do this. And I think it goes without saying that while Mrs. McMahon was in charge of the WWE illegal drug and steroid use was beyond rampant. But she didn't care about any of that. As long as she made money she couldn't be bothered to care about the ever increasing death toll.

Please know if Mrs. McMahon were running as a Democrat I'd be writing the same letter.

So please Voters of Connecticut do not vote for Linda McMahon.

Thank you for your time,

Thomas

Seconded.

(Disclaimer: for obvious reasons, I don't consider Richard Blumenthal to be any more preferable, but I'm probably known by now as an opponent of Linda McMahon. I would have preferred Schiff or Simmons in the Republican primary)

I was hoping Rob Simmons would win the primary, but he lost for the same reason Lamont did, people voted for the party endorsed candidates (chosen at the May conventions).

Democratic primary voters wouldn't pick McMahon. Wink

I only want McMahon to win for entertainment purposes. Blumenthal would just be another boring liberal Senator. But if we got McMahon in there...wow...Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

TD, I don't know why you are a fan of pro-wrestling, but I totally agree that having a Sen. McMahon (R-WWE) would be reprehensible.

If I were a CT voter at this point I'd vote John Mertens.

I am a lifelong wrestling fan (Not just WWE, but I like the indy promotions as well)... I must take a small issue with the letter. Linda McMahon has absolutely no say in the company's creative direction. That all goes back to her husbund, the Emperor, Vince McMahon and her daughter, Stephanie McMahon-Levesque.

Apart from that, I would urge every Connecticut voter to vote against Linda... Why? Not because she's a Republican. Vote against her because the quality of the WWE has gone sharply downhill since her run began and one of my personal favorite performers, and a very nice guy (Bryan Danielson) was fired because he made a storyline beatdown look just a bit "too real" by comically choking a ring announcer with his tie. He was fired over it because it would make Linda look bad.

If she loses, wrestling has a chance of getting better.

Sincerely,
The Selfish Dr. Cynic

She was the CEO. The buck stops with her. But I agree with you about Bryan Danielson. He shouldn't have been fired.

Well, logically, if she wins it will also get better, and probably more so, since she will have to resign as CEO and will stop running for (other) political office.

where was the love for Dole, Kemp and Lugar from the DNC back in the nineties?

If I were a CT voter at this point I'd vote John Mertens.

He is a liberal, you know?

he may be liberal in some ways, but he's willing to take on entitlement spending esp. Social Security, which is a plus in addition to not being either McMahon or Blumenthal.

I would have preferred Schiff, but McMahon will be interesting - she will replace debate on the Senate floor with cage matches (imagine Scott Brown and Debbie Stabenow in a CAGE MATCH!!!! It would be AWESOME!!!!!)

Clearly, the best way to reach Connecticut voters is through the Atlas.

Her CEO position did not really involve her in the creatve aspects of the company. Every insider knows that her position as CEO was ceremonial and the buck really stopped with Vince who had final say. It was Vince who thought of the necrophilia angle.

That's the only reason Danielson was fired. The sooner she loses, the sooner we can get him back.
