Unfortunately it would appear that it is easier to make arguments against the UN, and this is because the political climate over the past several decades has been largely anti-UN. Our government enacting on behalf of the dominant political climate often takes the isolationist approach of ignoring what the international community has to say. In short the status quo has adopted various strands of isolationism in order to ignore the the international community, and only serve U.S interests.

WHO and eradication of smallpox, UNICEF and the vaccination and food support for children worldwide, etc.  The UN has been one of the biggest forces for the improvement of the human condition in the history of humanity.

(I Purple heart UNICEF)

Then I would have to thank them because we should pride ourselves on that. You want to become an ally of terror or socialism IN THE NAME OF being a team player? How old are you?

I want to become a team player because i love humanity so much that i am willing to compromise the image of america being a super power. We have enough resources, and manpower to defeat the entire world. I really wish america could look past its ideological straitjacket and just think about others for once.

You madcap, the whole purpose of the UN is to further US imperialism.  Oh lord, the knuckleheaded right's fear of the UN is one of the funniest things in politics.

lol, if you want to prove that even when they wanna be 'internationalist/multi-lateralist/other names that would indicate you want to do something with others' Americans screw at that too then you're on the good way.

Well, not sure the purpose of UN is to further US imperialism, actually. UN is just something that can do nothing against it, and well yes it has been created on the ferments of US imperialism, but saying that this is its purpose (maybe unofficially in the heads of US people who created it at worst but de facto it isn't that) and what it wants to do, I'd find it quite unfair. What UN can concretely do and the resolutions that can be typed there (even if not passed because of the veto thing that US used a lot, of course) would show the opposite. UN is victim of its institutions but psychologically it's the opposite of imperialism.

Oh and are they really feared of it?

I found this guy more 'scary' than scared:

I'm fully for bigger international rules, bigger international institutions, the fact I'm not American might help to think this way, but well, I'm what I'm. But most of all I'm fully for more efficient and sensed international rules and more powerful in term of means. Some good rules would permit there isn't some abuse of means. But well, to concretely reach it, here begin the problems... I hope and think it could be possible, on the long term...

What about being an American because you love this country. Really there isn't another country who cares about each other and does as much good for the world as we do. I know your professors want you to think otherwise but compare how much the average American donates to charity each year compared to any other country. Yea that's right!!!

I am just simply saying that we should be more charitable and less harmful. I never said that America wasn't charitable.

The sad thing is that alot of our foreign aid is lost towards corruption and is used to build other countries' militaries.
