Congressional hearings on the unwelcome gusher in the Gulf will be held in due time, and figures in MMS will be grilled. If Democrats can now be held culpable for reacting too slowly to the gusher,  then who will be faulted for acting too slowly on the safety (human as well as environmental) of oil rigs off the coasts?

Obama did not purge MMS. There have been stories that look bad for Bush-era figures.

typical of a michigan democrat, blame bush halfway through obama's presidency.

No -- one quarter of the way through, unless you know something about a quarter of the way through.

ok a third of the way through technically

only if traditional America believes in communism, doesn't care about the family, could care less if the economy goes down in flames, and doesn't care about jobs going overseas because most of them have gotten a free ride all their lives.

Hmmmm, sounds a lot like the Democrats.

No, actually that is the reality of today's Republican Party — and your love of fascism.

If you are currently unemployed (or about to be) — and through no fault of your own — make sure to let Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) know that you are volunteering to be first in line to get drug-tested.

Write Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas #06) — after his apologizing to BP for their oil spill (and the "shakedown") — that you too find nothing more important to "traditional America" than one's sucking up to big-oil (and whatever corporations) that line Mr. Barton's coffers. (So long as his name continues to be followed by an "R.")

How about some sex-related scandals involving: Gov. Mark Sanford (R-South Carolina), Sens. David Vitter (R-Louisiana), John Ensign (R-Nevada), and Larry Craig (R-Idaho)? Overlook them. (I'm sure you have.)

Speaking of more "traditional America," are you placing a bet on how long Rush Limbaugh's latest — and fourth — "traditional" marriage will last? (You may want to call him, on his radio show, and ask why the 59-year-old multimillionaire doesn't have any children, biological or adopted. And ask him why the gay entertainer Elton John was singing at his wedding? By the way: the Republican Talking Points you like to embrace — like with this Rush Limbaugh–Elton John intrigue, send your regards to Frank Luntz.)

Whoever said Rush Limbaugh was traditional America?

Yeah that guy totally ass-burned me by assuming that I think Republicans are anathema to the Democrats.

I was thinking about a wry comment as a retort about the 2008 Republican nominee for President, but I don't make sexist jokes. She isn't up for re-election for anything.

President Obama is far above average in intelligence, by the way. If you want to fault his ideology, you have that. Otherwise?

I'll flip some states with you Dean Martin.

1. Missouri

2. Georgia

3. South Carolina

4. Montana

If any Republicans want to suggest that Pennsylvania, then remind yourself that it will be easier for Obama to flip

TEXAS

than for Republicans to flip Pennsylvania.

I heard that it was 124. That's nice, but I believe it's actually below average. Mine is 147. Of course, if he really has the highest IQ of all time, we're in some deep sh**t.

Obama can use his intelligence to ruin us too. Intelligence isn't always the best thing for a candidate.

100 is average.

70 to 80 includes the various borderlines between normality and the mildest forms of mental retardation.

80 is decidedly dull, but people with IQs near 80 can be useful in jobs in which rigid direction and guidance is the norm. To give some idea, that is a developmental age of 16 in an adult -- which probably shows why states usually don't issue drivers' licenses to people under 16.

90 is low-normal, suitable for people who have jobs in which rigid routines are the norm. Expect no creativity or imagination. Such reflects the usual high-school graduate who is clearly not "college material".

100? Draw your own conclusion. Probably goes to college but drops out because he can;t compete with the sharper students.

110 is the level at which one starts seeing college graduates. One is approaching a standard deviation away from the median.

120 is where one starts seeing genuine professionals -- researchers, accountants, the better sorts of school teachers.

130 and higher -- you start seeing far fewer people.

That's a good explanation. I'm at 111 and graduated college which sent me off to graduate school. I didn't finish but am a researcher. That does make sense when looking at the people I know and the IQ's that I'm aware of.
