I was walking down First Street and he walked right by us so I acknowledged him. He greeted me. I didn't expect him to be so personable.

Harry Reid's a very friendly man.

Have you gone through the Senate and House Office Buildings?  You don't even have to have a guided tour, you can just walk in past the metal detectors.  (If you want to go to the Capitol, you need the guided tour, though)  The Hart Building is quite nice, and the Calder piece is really impressive.  Russell's nice too (and looks more like what you'd expect), although the removal of the model of the Statue of Freedom is kind of disappointing.  Sad  (How the hell did they move that thing?  It's huge!)  You can still see the Freedom model in the CVC.  (And the real Freedom on top of the Capitol)

I saw him across from the Hart building. As I pointed out, I rarely run into Senators. I saw Henry Brown today but I didn't find that to be anything exciting enough to make a thread about. I can see the Statue of Freedom from my balcony. I've gone to the House Gallery a few times, yes, and the offices. My roommate works in the House offices.

Sometimes SoCal does not go north of the ridge of the mountains just to the south of Bakersfield, with the road down into the air pollution of Bakersfield known as the Grapevine, where trucks sometimes lose control and bite the dust, and which pass I remember was used as a metaphor to explain quantum mechanics in some high school chemistry text book believe it or not, or maybe it was about energy and stuff turning from ice to water to gas or something.

God, I really do look awful in that photo.  At least I have a tan now, and more available clothes than the only ones not being washed.

Gosh, stop bragging like that Joe. I mean a handsome guy in the pic is now claiming he is even more handsome!  Hey, maybe you are ready now to be displayed in GQ. Tongue
