They were dour. They were very far away. They had the nastiest set of supporters in German pro football (which isn't a bad thing in my book, not when considering the opposite extreme). And no Eintracht supporter can ever forget that fateful day in 1992.
But they were the only East German team to be continuously in the first two divisions. And they don't deserve to lose a playoff to Ingolstadt.
And they're pretty much bankrupt and I'm not sure they'll ever be back.

We have ten minutes to pray for a miracle.

I will not miss them. I hope they will be a long time in the 3. Liga. This Hooligan-Club is a shame for all German Football supporters.

Will Hansa Rostock II still play in the Regionalliga Nord next year or will they be disbanded?

Also what would happen if next year Hansa Rostock I was relegated again while Hansa Rostock II remained in Regionalliga Nord (or more comically, was promoted)?

Oughtn't to be a problem, the way I remember it. (Certainly wouldn't be a problem further down.)

Hansa Rostock II would be relegated as well.
Yeah, even if they were promoted and the two teams could theoretically bypass each other - at least that was the rule ages ago when it almost happened to Wehen I and II between the then Regionalliga and Oberliga Hessen.

Seems like a shame, but the rule is probably there to prevent a club found itself in that situation from playing its best players in the lower league as an insurance policy against relegation.  Are there any clubs with a III team?

Tragic, really. I'm not a really a fan, but Hansa was / is a legend.

It depends on the state. Not in Hesse (where although even the smallest clubs do tend to have a II team, they don't play in the league system.) But in NRW IIRC it's almost the norm.
