1789 As the electors went to vote George Washington was expected to win. When the electors voted they voted for Washington-Lincoln. That surprised the people when George Washington was sworn in he promised he will step down after 1 term. Because he really wanted to retire.
In his first year his health gradually declined.

1790 President Washington was weakening his doctors sent him to bed. But Washington called the Vice-President over and told him to act as President while he recovers. President Washington is hanging onto life. He than wakes up in the middle of the night unable to breath. Doctors come immediately they say he has no chance to survive. At 2:24 AM George Washington died. President Lincoln immediately was sworn in. He began work for the new Government and introduced legislation to congress.

1791 President Lincoln announced he was running for President. He was well liked by everyone. and seemed to comply with there suggestions.

1792 As the Presidential election began everyone expected a Lincoln win. An opponent of Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson. In the results Benjamin Lincoln was elected President Thoma Jefferson Vice-President

1793 President Lincoln and Vice President Jefferson are sworn in. By may that year the President and Vice President hated each other. President Lincoln announced that John Adams would be SofS. Alex Hamilton Treasury.

1794 Vice President Jefferson resigned President Lincoln asked congress if James Madison could be VP Congress agreed. The Cabinet was very successful in diplomacy. President Lincoln said that he will not run in 1796

1795 James Madison threw his hat into the ring. So did Thomas Jefferson. England shot a cannon at New York. 345 dead and 3,864 injured.

1796 President Lincoln endorses James Madison, and signs legislation that will create public opinions. James Madison is elected President John Adams Vice-President

A single cannon did that much damage? Did they shoot into a crowd?

1797 James Madison is sworn in. First ever public opinion released Approve of President 61% Disapprove 12% Undecided 27%. President Madison signs a law enabling the government to not take recess in times of crisis. Vice-President Adams says the President is planning on war with England because of the 1795 attack.

1798 President Madison asks congress in his State of the Union to declare war on England. Which it votes for unanimously. James Madison sends 1500 troops to England. President Madison appoints James Monroe Secretary of War. Aaron Burr as Secretary of State.

1799 Former President Lincoln is shot he lives. James Monroe said he will run for President. James Madison said so too. England surrenders to American forces. President Madison has a stroke he lives through that. Presidential approval approve 53% disapprove 47%.

1800 President Madison endorses James Monroe do to his weakened condition. John Adams announces he will run for President. Presidential Approval 47% approve 53% disapprove

1801 James Monroe sworn in. He signs legislation that says you may not murder family members. James Monroe tells congress he is going to address them soon when he does he asks for a national capital in the center of the country. Approve 69% disapprove 13% undecided 18%.

1802 James Monroe announces he will visit Europe to make Diplomatic relations. John Quincy Adams is appointed secretary of state. On Presidential trip to England President Monroe is shot in the heart by British soldiers he dies soon after.

1803 Vice-President Adams is informed of President death sworn in immediately. John Adams signs many legislation and gets a lot done. President Adams announces he is a candidate for President.

1804 Thomas Jefferson, John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson all announce they will run. 12th amendment ratified. Thomas Jefferson elected president with John Quincy Adams as VP.

1806 President Jefferson returns safely. Public Opinion act repealed. Massive protests begin in new york. Government announces plans for capitol city.

1807 Former President Lincoln dies a funeral service is held on March 7th 1807. President Jefferson announces he will run for a second term. John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson, and John Adams announces they will run.

1808 President Jefferson wins reelection against John Adams-Andrew Jackson. John Quincy Adams reelected vice-president.

1815 Andrew Jackson says he will not seek a second term. Daniel Tompkins and Rufus king announce bid for White House. John Quincy Adams says he will run.

1816 After a fierce battle for the White House. America votes for Adams. Rufus King is Adams running mate.

1818 Adams says either the Indians must give up land or they will be defeated. England aids Indians while french aid US. The US-Indian war begins. Adams sends 1500 troops to attack Indians.

1819 Adams announces plans to run for reelection. Indians defeated by American forced to give land and move west. Daniel Tompkins says he will run for President as does Richard Stockton.

1820 John Quincy Adams losses to Daniel Tompkins.
