A good gesture to improve relations. Though if I remember correctly no Russians were invited at the 60 year commemoration of the Normandy landings...

The "victory parade", I assume, is for the overall victory in WWII.  The Normandy landing had, as far as I can remember, no Soviets involved.

Good gesture by the Russians.  Not so much you.

The victory parade commemorates Russia's victory in the Great Patriotic War.

k....when the West has a parade for Victory on the Western Front you'll have a point if they don't invite Russia.

I'm just pointing out an interesting contrast. Of course, no one was invited from the West to those parades earlier, so it's not as if there was a gesture to answer.
Still, if one were to consider what would happen to the Normandy landings if most of the German troops weren't held up on the Eastern front...
