I would never ever buy weed from those death merchants at Phillip Morris. Hopefully they wouldn't be involved in selling.

You wouldn't have to. Like I said there would still be smaller growers, much like microbreweries exist for beer and other alcoholic beverages.

Profit margins would be pretty slim due to how cheap the price of weed would go post-legalization.  Did anyone see the article about the growers in Humboldt co. California coming out against legalization in Cali because it'd drive them out of business?

I'm pretty sure some groups would be able to charge a bit more for their "special blends" since it's my understanding that not all pot is exactly the same, and there's bound to be people like BRTD who would prefer to buy from them instead so they don't have to support "big corporate machines". Also, considering that pot is pretty easy to grow (lots of people just plant in the woods and come back later to harvest) it could just be a side business.

Of course not all growers would make it, but I'm sure a few would manage to carve themselves a niche.

Would these larger corporations even get involved in the business if it's legal only in California and is a crime federally?

I think it is hilarious that libertarians care about the regulations that surround marijuana, rather the damage that the War on Drugs does on people's lives.

I'm guessing you don't know many libertarians.  They are all about ending the War on Drugs.

If there is money to be made, a rich white guy from out east is going to be there to make money off of it.  Or at least try to.

I'm talking about libertarians round these parts. We've got some abstract weirdos here.
