I'll give you mine first, and Most of what I know about them comes from the rather large library in my fathers study.

Charles Murray was the social scientist that suggested welfare, and community action programs should be cut because of the IQ gap. These claims were based on faulty methods, but were eventually published in his book titled "the Bell Curve". Not many people really mention this guy anymore, but occasionally someone likes to bring his name up.

Arthur brooks is the guy who suggested that conservatives are more charitable than Liberals, and that gross national happiness can be measured through self-report surveys. He also predicted this country would be ultra-conservative by now. The fact that he used Self-Report surveys should throw up Red flags, but even more interesting is that even David Frum thinks he is intellectual dishonest.

I like Charles Murray just fine, and read The Bell Curve, and suspect that it is more or less accurate actually. I have seen him interviewed, and he is a very pleasant and cultured gentleman indeed. I have no idea who the other guy is, but his prediction is clearly wrong, and even if conservatives are more charitable on average (more religious?), I am not sure where one goes with that.
