As a supporter of capitalism I do not have a problem with a company attempting to exploit the populations labor supply because I realize that this can always be over come, but I do have a problem with people who oppose government intervention while having these super-nationals get off the hook. Basically they are saying "it is only wrong when a government erodes the sovereignty of another country, but there is no problem with corporations doing it!".
In any event countries often open their borders to these corporations because they realize the benefits of FDI, while at the same time overlooking the potential costs. The benefits of FDI are quite obvious, but countries who become dependent on them may often lose some of their sovereignty to these super nationals.
Thus if the term non-interventionist is to be used in a consistent fashion shouldn't these individuals also oppose non-government intervention as well?
