Quite frankly, they're right. Well, they can't claim Orwell for themselves without appearing as uninformed as they are lying. The man was a personal friend and political ally of Nye Bevan for chrissakes. (ie, the health minister who
created the National Health Service.)
He was also quite uninterested in such minor details as how, exactly, universal health care would be set up - he was remarkably naive on such matters, actually (yes, it's a fault I find with Orwell.) Though he did repeatedly tut at Conservative knee-jerk opposition to the Beveridge Report (commissioned during war time, and suggesting pretty much what Bevan implemented afterwards).
It's the equivalent of the 2050s KKK claiming William Ayers as one of their own.
