I did not know Reagan said trees cause pollution. That man never ceases to amaze me. Another example of why actors should not be politicians.
I doubt he was serious, he was probably trying to make a point.
When I look at it objective, I can't honestly say any US President wasn't unintelligent.Harding doesn't deserve to be on here. He was a very intelligent man, he just had major difficulties with communicating them.
You could say the same for Bush 43
http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/r/ronald_reagan.htmlThe link above shows that Reagan was most likely serious when he said trees cause pollution. I think I understand why there was such an anti-enviornment policy back in the 1980s--Reagan thought he was helping the enviornment by allowing businesses to tear down massive amounts of trees when he was actually severely hurting the enviornment. Yes, that Reagan fellow was a real intellectual (sarcasm).
As for Bush Jr., I'm not sure if he was always that stupid. I looked at how he talked in the 1994 Texas gubernatorial deabtes (used many long words and pronounced them correctly. Used long and eloquent language) and in the 2004 presidential debates (in short, like a bumbling bufoon) and I'm thinking maybe Bush got Alzheimer's or is getting senile in the meantime. In fact, even back in 2000, when a moderator during a debate asked Bush if he supported affirmative action, Bush said "I'm for what the lady said." (There was a woman moderator as well.) If that quote doesn't indicate stupidity, I don't know what does. Instead of answering the question, he just gave a stupid response like that. Evven my little cousin could give a better response to a question like that.
