The states have a fair amount of leeway with their policies on food stamp distribution, so cross-state comparisons aren't great unless you're looking specifically at food stamp policies rather than poverty or hunger. But there are some interesting things within states. For instance, look at Ohio and compare "all recipients" to "change since 2007"; they're almost in reverse, really bringing out how the industrial midwest has been hammered by the recession despite being still better off than the Appalachians.
