You do represent a class, AH - the owning class.

Where do you derive this conclusion from?

You support capitalism, AH, which benefits only the one class.

My support of capitalism is limited to the sort that uses increased productivity and expansion of enterprise to benefit the working man and his family. I have oft-spoken against corporatism.

You and I have precisely the same goals, then, but we just disagree on methodology.  I think something very much farther to the left is necessary to 'benefit the working man' - something along the lines of social democracy.

I get the same feeling. I don't think social democracy is appropriate for America's current political climate. One of the reasons, also, that I support a more profit-based economy is that it provides more innovations that benefit us in extraordinary ways-- technology, medical research, modern agriculture, etc. all developed because of the ability to use it advantageously. I believe that most people are driven by a sort of selfishness and that a socialistic system expects too much sacrifice from people that it just won't be getting out of them.

Well, technically no, it doesn't expect any sacrifice from anyone, just less privilege.

Ah, that's not true. He just uses the "working man" as his justification.

Yes, I know in practice he's just another acolyte of the oppressors, licking away, but I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

The best part about owning a German car is the trip to the service center. Mine always gives out free pastries, coffee and water all day long, as well as offering free rides all the way back to my home if loaner cars are not available! The only downside is my Mercedes is likely to have problems after a visit to the service center. It's almost like clockwork.

Oh my goodness!

I just went down to a Mercedes shop, and they had the YUMMIEST cookies ever!  I just went to test drive for fun with my little nephews. Smiley

I made the choice.  I got a 2009 Civic Ex.  Test drove the LX version and liked it.  Due to the fact that it was an old 09 model that they were looking to clear out I was able to get a bit larger of a break on the price than with the 2010 Civic or if I went with a Mazda 3 I model.   As a result of getting a bit more off the price I was able to upgrade from the LX model to the EX model which gets me a moon roof (which I would not have been able to get with the Mazda 3 version I was looking at) Put a deposit on it today, going to pick it up on Monday.

This is pretty much what it is

Cool, good choice.  You can't really go wrong with a Civic.

(other than one time I did, but that's not important right now)
