I'll definitely miss Oldsmobile, but not Saturn.

As for the planet, its hard to imagine anything less interesting.

Technically the Pontiac brand could still be sold (as could Saturn for that matter), but it's not looking good for either brand.

Damn. I hate seeing these vehicle brands go away. Especially ones like Oldsmobile which have a lot of history.

You know, the Mustang, Challenger, and Camaro have been doing well. So why don't more car companies start bringing back muscle cars? Grin

Which car companies would you want make a muscle car that don't already?  Would a Toyota muscle car sell to the kinds of people that buy muscle cars?

But there hadn't been much difference between Buick and Olds for a long long time.  Oldsmobile was redundent.  Pontiac was a little more unique as the "sporty" brand of GM, but they needed more unique models to survive.

Here's a thought.  Ford could buy the Pontiac name and sell rebadged Mazdas (the "sporty" Japanese brand that is partially owned by Ford) to Americans.

HELL NO. Ford can't even manage to make Mercury anything more than nothing.

What a shame.  I was looking forward to seeing Penske breakout on the scene and become the next major automotive company in the US (even if they weren't actually building the cars at first).
