To quote Lisa Simpson, "I'm really freaking stressed!"

But seriously - I don't know why - I can't relax lately.  I've got so much going on between school and my personal life that I feel like I'm on the verge of a heart attack.  And I realize how unhealthy this is, but I haven't been able to find a way to relax in months now.

Heck, I don't even know why I'm telling you guys this - it's just - I'm so stressed and have nobody to talk to right now that I need to just unload somewhere.

Inks, honestly, I wish I had some way to help you or offer any kind of worthwhile advice whatsoever but I have nothing. I am certain the entire forum agrees with me, however, in wanting to see that you get through whatever problems life may throw at you presently. It's not always easy and sometimes we face tough decisions or have regrets. Whatever it is that is bothering you, you will always have another chance to do something bigger and better.

Have you considered picking up a drug habit?  Smoking cigs is still legal...sort of.  Perhaps drink?  Maybe something a little softer like pot?

I guess I should post something serious too: talk to your campus health center, it's really cheap and they're pros unlike us

I'd suggest finding some pootana, like the one in my signature, and have a go......you'll be fine.

Don't rule out medication, Inks. (Dead and Lunar are partially right! Smiley) Or therapy.  Never mind what the knuckle-draggers say, it's the healthy and strong people who seek help.

And if you're religious, reading Scripture, prayer and seeking counsel or just a listening ear from a trusted priest or pastor might be just what the doctor ordered.

I'll keep you in my prayers. And if I can be of help, just send me a pm.

I would recommend chilling out, getting offline and doing what you have to do.

As a general rule, me and Lunar are always partially right.  Never 100% right, never 100% wrong.  Partially right.

I'm sort of in the same boat, Inksy. I just got started in school and I feel extremely isolated, and I am trying to avoid my ex-Asian mistress to boot while devising a plan to fix things between us. I'm ready to get out for Labor Day weekend.

Yeah - I'd normally be looking forward to the long weekend, but I'm going home to work because they're short staffed and they basically told me that I'd have to be there to get a promotion next year.

And to Lunar and dead0man, I'm the most law and order conservative we have on the forum - I'm not gonna go out and start doing drugs or drinking (which actually, me not drinking until I'm 21 is one of the things adding to the stress - but I'm so close and I'm too stubborn to give in now).  But thanks anyway - it was a good thought.

If you aren't going to drink or smoke, listen to some music and walk for a few hours.

Country music does it for me, and I suppose I need to get back into my jogging routine.

Very good idea.  Go out and exercise and just spend some time alone doing or thinking about stuff you love.

Yeah, if you're going to pussy out and not take up heroin you could always take the dog for a walk with your MP3 player of choice.  Look out though, I hear it's a gateway to gyms and the last thing we need is another KotBP.

Haha - I have no dog.  I should exercise more though.  I wanted to start jogging at night again, but I'm so swamped with other things.

Whenever I'm uber stressed I find that a bottle of Corona Extra with limes thrown in does the trick. If that doesn't work I bust out the Grey Goose.

Oh wait you're under 21........dude take up smoking. You may die younger in life, but at least you won't feel half as stressed out all the time. IS IT REALLY WORTH BEING STRESSED OUT JUST TO LIVE A FEW MORE YEARS?!

Also, try hanging out with a few lasses mate, even if you don't get any it's still pleasant company. That's at least my experience, hanging out with bros all the time gets boring to the point of depression for me. If you're super conservative I would suggest this last choice.

Exercise is not worth the goddamn effort.

Damn it.

You really are a hard egg to crack. May I recommend another choice? One that involves a bottle of painpills and a Colt 45?

I'm taking sleeping pills to help me sleep. I'm not sure if you're having problems sleeping though. I just need to fix things between me and a girl, and that's eating away at me. If I can settle that, I'll be alright.

AHDuke, I am by no means majoring in Counseling but I think it would be best if you and your former Asian mistress put away your previous transgressions and start out with a clean slate. Just walk up to her one day, ask her how her life is, and then tell her you're sorry about your part in the whole mess and that you wish her nothing but happiness. Even if you have to bullsh*t it is much easier than avoiding each other all year holding that negative energy that exists between each other. Believe me you will feel a lot better if you can muster the initiative to pull such a forgiving and open act towards your former mistress (post pictures plz, I have yellow fever). If she refuses your offer of amnesty, tell her to back to the Red Light District sucking honky genitals for $1. Either way you will get some kind of closure, no more awkwardness.
Before you do this, may I recommend a glass or two of Don Equis or Grey Goose to loosen the nerves?
We'll be rooting for you man:

Thanks. Tongue

I also had a family crisis over the summer which really bothered me too, which probably led to my lashing out at my ex Asian mistress among other things. She is just one of my many problems, but she's one I can actually fix while the others are really beyond my control. I am planning on fixing it somehow. I haven't seen her yet on campus, but I know we'll cross paths eventually. Her roommate seems willing to help actually, so I may talk with her on the best way to go about it.
