One of my best friends served in Iraq, and I am damn proud of her for doing so.  She's talked to me about it and told me some horrible stories.  They scared me and I wasn't even there.  No idea how she was able to handle all that.  The biggest thing she always talks about though is the camaraderie between her and her squad mates.  It's obvious that they had a great bond and a lot of respect for each other.  I'd say that speaks louder than anything else.  I don't appreciate it when people who have never served criticize and diminish her service based on stereotypes, tbh.
