Have Democrats elected a self-proclaimed socialist as president, done complete 180s on their opinions of said socialist the moment they clinched the nomination, aligned their party around them and socialist ideology, supported them every step of the way (except a Tweet or two about how a particularly egregious action is “deeply concerning”, and then still not doing anything to stop it), claimed that any attempt to look in to illegal actions by the socialist president is a “witch hunt”, allowed said socialist to become a kingmaker in primaries, claimed to be moderate while voting with them 95% of the time or more, and dismissed any criticism of the president as “(Socialist President) Derangement Syndrome”?

Then no. And whether or not you think Democrats hypothetically would do all of this is nothing but speculation and is not proof of any equivalency.

Here is your answer (above) Shaula.
Of course you won't like it, because there is too much truth attached to "your side" and their cultish behavior for trump. But you will need to accept it regardless.

...  I’ll maintain people are gullible if they don’t think most leaders on the left in America would prefer our economy was structured more like a Nordic country than what it currently is … and I’m sure I’ll be met with, “And what’s wrong with that?!”
...

I would like to hear what are YOUR top three things that would be "really horrible" for the US, if we actually structured ourselves more like a "Nordic country."
And if you are going to disclose those top three things, also give us your thought on the top three things that YOU would be willing to admit that might/would be better.

For one, Nordic countries treat Muslims and people with my skin color like second class citizens.

Oh yes.
We never do that here in the US. Most especially from MAGA Republicans.

He's not saying racism is nonexistent in the US but on the whole, it is a far more tolerant country than most others. Someone who became a citizen yesterday is considered just as American as someone whose ancestors came here on the Mayflower.

If you are, say a non-Norwegian person who lives in Norway, you'll never really be seen as a true Norwegian.

Excuse me, but did you miss the tons of videos that were posted in Atlas (mainly during trump's presidency), about the massive increase in MAGA white idiots, telling people of color over and over and over, that that they did not belong in this country, and that they "need to go back to their country." Videos along the roadway/sidewalk, in Walmart, shopping center parking lots, grocery stores, restaurants, everywhere.

Those individuals that experienced this hateful bigotry from MAGA Republicans, explained how they had been two or even three generations in this nation. So don't go off spouting lies about how "non-Norwegians will never be seen as true Norwegians," when we watched tons of videos showing a massive increase in hate, all due to Mr-MAGA-trump. These idiots here in the US, did the exact same thing you are complaining about in Norway.

They did this with racist at least 10-15 years ago and are in the process of doing it with fascist.

So you're saying his initial comment was right then......

What "initial (part of his) comment" are you referring to, exactly?

The premise of the thread is that critiques of the American left as "socialists" are unrealistic and then tying that into the alleged overuse of the word MAGA. Rino Tom asserted that it was accurate to call them socialists since most of them privately support a Nordic style economy to which you replied by defending socialism. Which proves the point he was making, he even pointed that out and you snipped it out when you quoted him.

This is the usual Atlas red and red adjacent av rhetorical strategy of denying a thing is happening while simultaneously defending the thing.

Where did I "defend socialism"?

I said most on the left would prefer we move toward a Nordic-type economy even if they won’t admit it publicly.  Your first and only comment, rather than refute that, was to effectively say, “What’s wrong with a Nordic economy”?!  And it proved my point exactly.

No, I did not say that. Nor did I "effectively say" anything like that.
What do you do, just make **** up as you go along?
