I sincerely hope the posts here are ironic. This looks to be an example of excessive use of police force but it's being celebrated by red avatars (and probably only rejected by blue avatars) because it's in support of a Democratic political cause. In all likelihood, this woman didn't need to be tazed to be restrained and that could plausibly carry health risks greater than her not wearing a mask.

She was resisting arrest for trespassing.  At that point the options were either tazing or tackling and as a general rule, tazing is safer for all involved. She escalated the situation at multiple stages.  What I don't understand is how she was allowed in if she wasn't wearing a mask upon entry. That's really the only place I can fault the officials here, assuming she didn't wear a mask upon entry and then took if off later.

On the local news, they said she had a mask in her back pocket.
So she may have worn it to enter, then removed it later.

Woman who claims to have asthma is out and about without a mask on not worried about getting a serious respiratory ailment.

we have been told repeatedly by "science" that we wear masks to protect other people, not to prevent the wearer from getting anything.  It may help a bit with that, but that's not why we wear masks.  And as was just said, asthmatics are not a high risk group.

also, anybody that gets joy from this, but thinks protestors who don't wear masks should not be punished is an asshole.  No question.

Basic masks do this, yes.
But there are masks that can do a very good job of protecting you.
You see medical staff wearing these all the time (and can be found and purchased by the general public).
A genuine N95 mask is an example.
