I voted for the new convention too, as did the Mrs.
The 10+ % of the electorate who voted for the Green Party candidate for Governor in 2006, showa that there is a significant segment of the Illinois electorate who are pretty fed up with politics as usual in the state.
Nothing in all of this has been more hilarious than all the talking heads on network and cable TV trying to explain Illinois politics :->
